Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja has reached the big screens this Friday with powerful mass entertainer Veera. Veera is prestigious project for Ravi Teja as it is the highest budget film so far in the Star’s career. Veera has Kajal Agarwal and Tapsee as the female leads. The duo earlier acted in Mr.Perfect and scored super hit. Will the duo prove lucky to Ravi Teja too with Veera? Will Ravi Teja’s biggest budget gain success? Read on…
Story:
The story takes off with a goon Rahul Dev planning to take revenge on ACP Shyam (Shyam) for arresting him. Deva (Raviteja) will be appointed for giving special security to Shyam’s family. Deva gets friendly with entire Shyam’s family except Shyam’s wife Satya (Sridevi). In the meantime, Ikee (Taapsee), a neighbor falls in love with Deva.However Deva dont respond to her love. Story takes a twist when Shyam gets to know that Deva is not appointed by Government officials? Who is Veera? What is his background and why does he comes to save Shyam’s family forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Ravi Teja gives an admiring performance and he always delivers his best as per his part is considered. However, his typical comic drama and humor quotient is missing in Veera as the movie is highly packed with mass fights. Otherwise, Ravi Teja makes his performance count.
Tapsee looked extremely hot and glamorous in the film. Not just with the looks, but she essayed her role with utmost confidence.
Kajal Agarwal delivers a flawless performance as Kabaddi Chitti.
Brahmanandam succeeds in providing some fun-filled moments and is the only relief in the first half of the film. Divya Vani, Shyam, Subba Raju, Pradeep Rawat gives a commendable performance while Ali, Supreet, Venu Madhav are okay in their regular roles.
Technical Analysis:
Music by Thaman stands out with most of them being entertaining numbers and he has comeup with an inspiring background score. Cinematography by Chota.K.Naidu is on top-class, especially the song picturisation locales keeps you glued to the screens. On the flip side, editing is the minus for the film that has many avoidable scenes. Screenplay is highly predictable and directorial skills of Ramesh Varma are mediocre. Director Ramesh Varma could have handled such complex subject tight script but the poor narration and execution made Veera weak.
Analysis:
Ravi Teja might have accepted Veera project as his character has dual shades and scope for performance. Such films need well-written script and good screenplay. But Veera utterly fails in both these aspects. Though the first half manages to have some fun-filled moments in the form of Ravi Teja and Brahmanandam also have some twists in the story that takes you by surprise, however it is the second half that makes you feel the torture. The second half of the film is highly predictable and there aren’t any interesting elements that keep you glued to the screens. At the box-office, Veera might find hard to get back its investment.
Final Verdict:
Veera is utterly boring and disappointing!!!

Rebel in trouble?

As he tasted big success with Mr.Perfect and won praise from all kinds of audiences, both family and youth, he doesn't want to do an out and out mass masala film at this juncture.
Prabhas signed Rebel under the direction of Raghavendra Lawrence couple of months ago and the film was to start its shoot last month.
Due to the strike in the film industry it got delayed and now with the super success of Mr.Perfect, Prabhas is rethinking of doing this movie, sources informed us.
He reportedly is not happy with the script and he told this to the director. He also suggested some changes in the script. If the film has to go to the sets, Lawrence should come up with a modified script.
Prabhas himself is telling everyone these days that Dil Raju and director Dasaradh have successfully implemented the changes that he suggested in the script of Mr.Perfect and those changes are instrumental in the success of the movie.
So, Prabhas expects the same from Lawrence. Will Lawrence, who is going through rough patch to save his flagging career, do the necessary?

Mallika welcomes Indians at Cannes
Before leaving for Cannes, Sherawat told media here: "I think it is great that more and more Bollywood actresses are going to Cannes and representing India. More power to all the actresses in Bollywood."
Besides Sherawat, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has starred in films like 'Bride and Prejudice', 'Pink Panther 2', and 'Mistress of Spices' has also been the face of Bollywood films at Cannes since many years.
Bollywood celebrities like actresses Sonam Kapoor, Minissha Lamba, Rani Mukherjee, actor Saif Ali Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar are also attending the festival this year.
It is Sherawat's third visit to Cannes Film Festival, where the cast and crew of her film, 'Politics of Love', would join her.
She looked thrilled about her film's screening at the festival.
"I think after Cannes, the Oscars, President Barack Obama and now going to Cannes, it is the third step. I am keeping my fingers crossed; wish me luck," said Sherawat.
'Politics of Love' also stars Loretta Devine and Brien J. White, and is a romantic comedy spun around U.S. President Barack Obama's election campaign.
The actress, known for her flamboyant roles in Bollywood flicks, has earlier made appearances at Cannes for her English-Hindi crossover films, 'Hiss' and 'The Myth', opposite Hollywood star Jackie Chan.

Rajini advised two more days in ICU
The 60-year-old, who is suffering from allergic bronchitis and fever due to exhaustion, was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of St. Isabel Hospital on Wednesday night.
"His condition is stable, but he will be required to stay at least two more days in the hospital, and a decision about his discharge will be taken only thereafter," the hospital source said.
The south superstar has been hospitalised for the second time in a week. He was admitted to the ICU of the hospital after a bout of vomiting on 29th April, but was discharged in the evening.
