Is Ameesha Patel the new girl in Yuvraj’s life?

Written By moveeland on Monday, 4 April 2011 | 11:02 pm

The lads of Indian cricket team have always scored high among the beauties of Bollywood. And the latest World Cup win only make these young guns all the more desirous. Buzz has it that dainty Ameesha Patel is head over heels on India’s hot and favorite cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

If reports are to be believed, Ameesha Patel was the cricketer`s special guest at the World Cup final. Sources confirm that Yuvraj gave Ameesha Patel special tickets to the World Cup finals between India and Sri Lanka at Wankhede stadium.

Well, this might come as a real pain for several hearts, but it appears that Ameesha is the new girl in Yuvi’s life!

Making it quite apparent, Ameesha said, "Yuvi is a good friend and he invited me."

And if there was any doubt about her special dosti with the cricketer, the words of gushing praise makes it all obvious.

Ecstatic Ameesha while watching the match was all - “Yuvi bowled, fielded and batted superbly on Saturday. When he almost got run out I screamed the loudest! Saif (Ali Khan) and Ranbir (Kapoor), who were in the same box, looked at me as if I was mad because I was making them so nervous."

The actress sat in the especially reserved ICC Hospitality Box near the pavilion says, "People kept asking me to quiet down as I was the most boisterous. I kept shouting for Yuvi to play stably."

She wanted to meet Yuvraj after the end of play, but the crowds were hysterical by then. "It took me three hours to get home," she said.

Poonam Pandey`s bare not for all, only Team India

She may or may not get to strip for the Men in Blue, but young model Poonam Pandey has sure got a lot of media attention as well as lucrative offers from international magazines that want her to pose naked.

The aspiring actress, who has grabbed headlines for stating that she will bare all if Team India wins the World Cup, has been flooded with offers from foreign glossies. But she has rejected them saying she will strip only for the Indian team.

"So far she is flooded with many offers from India and world wide. Right from Indian reality shows to international magazines. More than that, she got a huge half million dollar offer from an international magazine to pose nude for their cover, but she rejected it as the act to go nude was only meant for team India to get home the World Cup and not to make fame and money. She is on cloud nine as India won the cup," said Poonam`s manager Vipin M.

The 19-year-old was one of the top eight contestants of Gladrags` model hunt contest last year.

According to Vipin, the model has been getting threatening calls from moral police and she is avoiding taking calls or talking to anybody in person unless she gets an approval from BCCI.

Poonam made her controversial offer on Twitter just before the semifinal in Mohali.

But later she made a statement saying she would only do so if BCCI permits. On Friday she sent an official letter to the board, saying going naked for the team would have a "therapeutic" effect on Team India and help them win.

In the letter, she wrote: "..I want India to win the Cricket World Cup 2011 and am willing to go the extra mile to do anything so that India wins the World Cup. I am ready and willing at any place and time of the Indian teams choosing to go in the nude to boost their sporting spirit to perform better.

She also cited "many studies conducted by various universities abroad which confirms and infers that such performances/expectations boost and inspire people to perform better in any field, be it sports or otherwise. Even medical books on psychology and psychiatry confirms this".

The model made a "humble request" to be allowed to "perform in the privacy of the Indian cricket team`s dressing room or any other place of your choosing". She suggested "a foreign land like Paris in France, so that the Laws of India - if a hindrance, shall not apply".

It would act like a "private therapeutic performance with a psychologist`s presence" and "cannot be an offence under any law for the time being in force if the team members have no objection and the BCCI gives the go ahead".

I cried when I saw Yuvi cry: Shilpa Shetty

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty found it hard to control her emotions after India won the cricket World Cup on Saturday. She broke down in tears when she saw Yuvraj cry.

"I can't control my emotions!! Yay India won. It's a wonderful feeling. It was an emotional moment. When I saw Yuvraj (Singh) cry, I also started crying because I have experienced this myself," Shilpa, who owns Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals, told a news channel.

"The way India played together with maturity was superb," said the 35-year-old actress.

She even recalled the day when India had won the World Cup title in 1983, saying her father had also cried at that time.

"We were very small when India won its first World Cup 28 years back, but I remember my father had also cried at that time. All those emotions came back one again

My role in 'Game' is refreshing: Kangna

After the hit romantic comedy " Tanu Weds Manu", Kangana Ranaut plays a cop in just-released " Game". The actress, who says she makes an effort to do selective work, will be seen in light-hearted roles in three forthcoming films.

Kangana's three forthcoming releases are "Rascals", "Double Dhamaal" and "Happy New Year".

"I love comedy, but you cannot continue doing the same kind of roles. As an actor it's important to grow, for your own interest or for your audiences' interest. It gets monotonous. I prefer to do things like 'Tanu weds Manu'; at the same time I loved doing 'Fashion'. They are all very very different from each other," Kangana told us.

"I make an effort to do selective work," she added.

Asked whether she was offered the item song that Mallika Sherawat is doing in "Double Dhamaal", she said: "No, the song was not offered to me. I am generally not interested in doing item numbers."

"I don't think I have any reservations or limitation. I havn't come across any so far in my career. There wasn't anything that I have been incapable of doing or where I found my parameters very narrow. There hasn't been any incident like that," Kangana, whose recent release "Tanu Weds Manu" turned out to be a hit.

She jumped on the Bollywood bandwagon with critically acclaimed and commercially successful crime-based romantic saga "Gangster - A Love Story", which was directed by Anurag Basu.

After "Gangster", she mostly played tragic roles. Her next release was "Woh Lamhe" (2006), which was filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's final goodbye to former girlfriend Parveen Babi. In the film, Kangana brilliantly portrayed the late actress' madness and despair.

In "Life In A... Metro" (2007), a film about big city people coping with emotional and psychological trauma, Basu presented her as a call centre executive who is in a relationship with her married boss.

With Bhandarkar's "Fashion", a dark tale about the fashion industry, she hit bull's eye. Her performance as an ex-ramp queen won her a national award.

She moved to lighter roles with "Kites" and "Tanu Weds Manu".

"Game", she says, has given her ample chance to exploit her potential.

"I play a cop and it is a very intense performance in terms of body language, speech. It gave me ample amount of chance to exploit my potential. It's very refreshing and not something that you guys have seen before on Indian screen," said Kangana, 24.

The actress, who started working at the age of 17, has no regrets.

"Every life has its own charm, like my life has its own charm. My friends are doing post- graduation, a few are getting married. Their lives might seem charming to me at some point of time, but they find my life very charming. It's important to be happy in our place. I don't miss the fun element of college life," she said

Liz Hurley is apparently considering participating in Australian Dancing With The Stars.

The beauty has been approached by the producers of the show – meaning her on-off relationship with former cricketer Shane Warne could be hotting up again.

The swimwear designer visited Warne, 41, in Melbourne in February following a well-publicised flirtation on Twitter.

“The Aussies are fascinated with her and her relationship with Shane, and Channel 7, which airs the show – Dancing With The Stars – is desperate to sign her up,” the Daily Mail quoted an insider as saying.

Menahile, Hurley, 45, has filed for divorce from her estranged husband Arun Nayar on Friday, citing the textile heir’s ‘unreasonable behaviour’.
