The Telugu film industry is once again heading for trouble. All the cine workers are preparing themselves for a mass strike, demanding increase in their wages. Film Employees Federation has already called for halting of Telugu film shootings from tomorrow (Friday). It has already served a notice to the Film Producers’ council. With this according to all indications, shootings will come to a grinding halt from tomorrow.
However, the film Producers’ Council has initiated talks with the workers as the film industry would be put to loss if shootings are halted. They have already had two rounds of talks without success. It is learnt that the Producers are consulting the South Indian Film Chambers and have also said that they had no objection to pay wages like the Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam film industries. However, the producers council is stating that there was no unity among the leaders of the workers unions and hoped that the issue would be ironed out soon.
